Holidays at Home!
Spring is in the air and, with the Easter break on the
way, it's time to kick the season into gear. Before the madness of full
summer sets in, this is an excellent time to be a tourist at home. Take
the opportunity of warmer weather, quieter roads, lighter evenings (and
lower rates) to visit all those places you never get to even though - or
perhaps, because - you live so close to them!
How to be a tourist
You might want to start out by looking in the Travel & Tourism category of The AngloFILE. Look at the INFOrmation Pages on Local Tourism Notes for inspiration – it's a reminder of some of the better known sites of the region and is designed to deliver practical information. Or see the Travel Guides section of the Bookshop to find guide books to the area.
If you have a destination in mind, find out what sort of accommodation may be on offer from the Holiday Accommodations Options and then find somewhere to stay - a hotel, B&B or maybe a campsite - in the Hotels & Holiday Accommodation category of The AngloFILE.
To help you plan your trip, AngloINFO provides links to Maps of the region. And once you've reached your destination, have a look at the Children: Days Out For Kids and Days Out: Trips & Tours categories of The AngloFILE for ideas on where to go and see, or pay a visit to the local Tourist Office for flyers and brochures bound to offer a wide range of interesting things to do.
Ever stronger in Spain
Friday 30 March 2007 saw the sixth AngloINFO website reach Spain (and the 30th in total) with the launch of AngloINFO Almeria. It covers the provinces of both Almería and Granada, which include the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range, the beaches east of Malaga and the ancient villages of inland Andalucia.
