Wherever you're from originally, it can be helpful to know about the people who can represent you in Cyprus. Practically all countries have officials working in their embassies (which exist to present the country to Cyprus, as it were), and also in consular services, which assist the countries' nationals visiting or living in Cyprus.
Paperwork and passports
Depending on your nationality, you may find that your country's consular services can provide a great deal of help for your life in Cyprus.
The British High Commission, for example, has a wealth of information on its website, which is a handy guide to many issues that crop up if you're a UK resident of Cyprus; while the consular section of the Embassy of the United States in Nicosia also provides assistance its citizens in the country, as well as hosting an "American Corner" in Famagusta.
