AngloINFO Cyprus Update

What's That Word?

The summer break is winding down, and schools and universities across the country are gearing back up for the new academic year. But education isn't just for youngsters. You need never stop learning, and that can be particularly true if you're less than fluent in the local language. A solid grasp of Greek can add to your quality of life in this country – being able to understand what is going on around you, and why!

Learning the lingo

There are many ways to learn Greek as a foreigner: there's total immersion, group or individual lessons at a language school, or private lessons at your home or workplace.

AngloINFO provides a number of resources to help you with the language:
First, there are listings of Language Schools & Courses in The AngloFILE, AngloINFO's directory of English-speaking businesses and organisations in the region.

Then, if you're keen to teach yourself, you'll find a selection of language guides and dictionaries in the Bookshop. These can be bought online through Amazon.co.uk.

And if you're stuck on a phrase, or struggling to read a Greek-language website, then see the new INFOrmation Page on Online Translation. Now you can make an automated translation of a selected portion of text – or even of an entire website – from English to Greek (or vice versa).
