Dragon Warrior, how do you know it'll be in excess of 3000 euros, have you had experinece in dealing with the customs at the port?
I spoke to SBA Customs today, they advised me to go to the port and get someone to give me a accurate figure of what would needed to be paid if i sold the car to someone who did not have duty free status, which i will do tomorrow. If that figure is true then i will take if off the market and keep the car until i leave the island, then i'll give it away to someone at work, it wouldn't be worth the hassle of trying to sell it with that imposed figure added to the cost.
I went to customs at Limassol port today (5th Nov 09).
They quoted the duty for my car to be 1570e as long as i could produce a emission certificate which I get from the DOT (fee to be paid i'd imagine) & my logbook for the vehicle, already have the cypriot one so i presume they want to see if the duty was paid in the UK on the car, obviously it was but we all know what cypriot administration can be like! They said they would get hold of Customs in Nicosia to get my logbook from them if I sold the car.
