Visa InformationMost non-EU citizens may enter Cyprus for up to three months on a valid passport with no visa being required. Information on a stay longer than three-months for work, study or any other reason enquire at the local Cypriot High Commission or Embassy. The government recommends that entry into the Republic of Cyprus be made via one of the legal ports in the government-controlled area. These are the airports of Larnaca and Paphos and the seaports of Larnaca, Limassol, Latsi and Paphos.
Types of visaThere are three types of Cyprus visa: long-term, short-term, and permanent.
A Cyprus residence visa is only issued if a person can prove they have employment, are appropriately qualified for self employment or have sufficient fund to be financially independent.
The private website CyprusVisa.eu has comprehensive information relevant to foreigners wanting to move to Cyprus to live, work or study. US CitizensAmerican citizens need only have a valid passport for visitors' entry to Cyprus - no visa is required - for a stay of up to 90 days (3-months). However if planning a move for employment, study or any other reason applications should be made before arrival. Full details of the application process are available from the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus.
